Washington, DC – Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA) announced the inclusion of two additional community projects totaling more than $2.7 million that she secured for California’s 26th Congressional District in the Fiscal Year 2024 funding bills. This funding, included in the most recent government funding package, responds directly to some of the most pressing needs in Ventura County and the Conejo Valley including investments in critical infrastructure and resilient energy sources.
“I voted to keep numerous federal agencies from shutting down and protect our democracy from all threats foreign and domestic. In addition, House Democrats were successful in removing harmful extreme MAGA Republican policies from these critical funding bills that attempted to make abortion illegal everywhere, slash efforts to fight climate change, and threaten our national security,” said Congresswoman Brownley. “Instead, the final bipartisan 2024 funding bills will help keep our communities safe, fight inflation, grow our economy, and move our country forward.
“I am pleased to have also secured over $2.7 million in Community Project Funding in this bill that I know will have a profound impact on California’s 26th Congressional District. These investments create jobs, making a real difference in the lives of so many people throughout Ventura County and the Conejo Valley. More specifically, Brownley championed funding for two projects in the second package of government funding bills that will directly benefit California’s 26th Congressional District residents including:
- $1,383,068 for City of Agoura Hills Civic Center Microgrid Project
- $1,383,068 for City of Thousand Oaks Water Pumps Microgrid Project
These community investments follow the previously announced projects included in the first government funding package here. In total, Brownley secured over $13 million for fifteen projects throughout Ventura County and the Conejo Valley in the Fiscal Year 2024 package of appropriations bills.
