Washington, DC – Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA) released the following statement today after she was elected by her Democratic colleagues on the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee to serve as Chairwoman of the Health Subcommittee:
“It is an honor to have been chosen by my colleagues to serve as Chairwoman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Health Subcommittee. My top priority will be to ensure that our veterans have access to the care and benefits they have earned and deserve — including the fast-growing population of women veterans. While it often feels like there is little consensus in Congress, there is a clear agreement that we must work together to uphold the promise we make to our nation’s veterans: that we will serve them, as they served us. I am proud of the bipartisan progress our Committee has made, and I will continue to work across the aisle to deliver for veterans here in Ventura County and around the country.”
