Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA) issued the following statement on the rocket attacks by Hamas:
“The violence in Israel and Gaza has been horrific. In no uncertain terms, I condemn the terrorist attacks launched by Hamas. Israel has a right to defend its citizens against such attacks.
“My heart breaks for those killed and injured, their families, and all those now living in fear for their safety in the region. It is time for both sides to take steps to de-escalate tensions so as to avoid further loss of life and commit to a peaceful, diplomatic resolution.”
