President Trump’s second term has been defined by lawsuits, unchecked executive overreach, and reckless policies that threaten the very fabric of our democracy. This administration has shown nothing but contempt for the rule of law, circumventing constitutional guardrails, flouting court orders, and undermining the rights of everyday Americans.
From attacking the federal workforce to eroding judicial independence to using the military against our own cities, Trump has weakened the very institutions designed to protect our freedoms – all while failing to deliver on his promise to: lower costs for working families.
While the House and Senate Republicans refuse to conduct proper oversight of this administration, Democrats in Congress have been leading the fight to curtail Trump’s offenses.
I know many of you are feeling anxious, angry, and overwhelmed. I hear your concerns, and I share your outrage. That’s why I’m fighting back. You can stay up-to-date on my work by going to my new Holding the Trump Administration Accountable page that details how we’re using every tool at our disposal – including legislation, litigation, and communication – to hold this administration accountable, protect our communities, and safeguard the rights of the American people.
Whistleblower Tip Line
In addition to our efforts to combat executive overreach and the unlawful actions of this administration, I have added a new resource and tip line for federal whistleblowers.
Whistleblowers play a vital role in ensuring government accountability by exposing wasteful spending, improving federal programs, and protecting the integrity of government-funded projects.
Federal employees have a constitutional right to communicate with Congress on matters of public concern. The Whistleblower Protection Act and other federal statutes prohibit retaliation, or the threat of it, against certain federal employees who report wrongdoing, and the laws also protect their communications with Congress.
I am committed to ensuring government accountability and transparency. If you’re a federal employee who has concerns about waste, fraud, abuse, or mismanagement in federally funded programs, I encourage you to reach out via my Whistleblower Intake Form or by calling my office at (805) 379-1779.
House Democrats are steadfast in our efforts to hold this administration accountable and push back against attacks on our democracy and the American people.
For updated resources and information regarding my work for California’s 26th Congressional District, please follow me on Facebook, Bluesky, Instagram, and YouTube.
As always, my office remains open to assist you. If you or someone you know needs help with a federal agency, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (805) 379-1779. I’m here to help.
Sincerely,
JULIA BROWNLEY
