Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) joined New Dem Trade and Tariffs Task Force Chair Rep. Don Beyer (VA-08), Global Competitiveness Task Force Chair Rep. Greg Stanton (AZ-04), and 26 New Dem colleagues in a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer calling on him to retain and, if possible, strengthen the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), warning that prolonged uncertainty over the agreement threatens American jobs, hurts workers, raises costs for families, and undermines North American competitiveness. This follows the administration’s decision not to extend the agreement on July 1.

Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) joined New Democrat Coalition Trade & Tariffs Task Force Chair Don Beyer (VA-08), Former New Dem Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene (WA-01), and 44 New Dems in a letter to the Trump administration demanding answers and transparency on their plans to refund the $175 billion in illegal tariffs that raised the cost of groceries, household goods, housing, and everyday life for working Americans. 

Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26) introduced the Producing Real Opportunities for Technology and Entrepreneurs Investing in Nutrition Act (PROTEIN Act), legislation to make a strategic federal investment in protein innovation through boosted support for research, workforce development, and domestic manufacturing capacity.  Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is introducing companion legislation in the U.S. Senate.
