An efficient, effective federal government depends on workers that are hired based on merit, not political loyalty. President Trump’s executive orders threaten to undermine that merit-based system by making thousands of federal employees vulnerable to removal at the President’s whim. From unilaterally shuttering federal agencies to offering federal employees a buyout of dubious authenticity, Trump and Elon Musk’s actions defy the Constitution, the law, and the will of the American people. It is part of their mission to overwhelm the public’s attention with chaos, crisis, and absurdity. We must not let them.
Just as I have throughout my time in Congress, I will continue to stand up for our federal employees and stand against efforts to harass them through Schedule F and other tactics. If your job or someone you know is impacted by Trump and Musk’s corruptive influence, you can learn more about your rights and access a list of resources below.
As you navigate this challenging time in federal employment, you may wish to contact your union or HR representatives for more information.
