“Attending a service academy is a great honor and an excellent way for young Americans to serve their country. Every year, I have the honor of nominating students to represent our district at one of the five prestigious service academies in the nation. I encourage all interested young people to attend and learn more about the academies and the Congressional nomination process.”

This fall, my office is hosting a series of information nights for students and their families throughout California’s 26th Congressional District to learn about the service academies and the opportunities these institutions of higher learning afford their students.

In partnership with the Office of Congressman Salud Carbajal, the next Service Academy Information Night is Wednesday, September 25, at 5:30 PM at Foothill Technology High School, located at 100 Day Road in Ventura.

This popular event features representatives, including alumni and current students, from the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. In addition to providing resources that help prospective students navigate the rigorous application process and the competitive congressional nomination process, the meeting also provides a forum for students and their parents to ask questions about admissions, student life, and more.

My staff will also be on hand to answer questions about the congressional nomination process.
NOTE: Applications for a congressional nomination are due to my office no later than Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

If you have any questions about the nominations process, please contact Kate Vega at kate.vega@mail.house.gov or call (805) 379-1779.
