Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley issued the following statement on the House-passed Republican proposal spearheaded by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan:
“Congress must balance our budget, reduce our debt, and invest in our future in a way that will grow our economy by strengthening the middle class, protect the promise we’ve made to our seniors, and that ultimately reflects the values of the American people.
“I voted against the Ryan budget because it shows no interest in finding common ground between the parties, would hurt our seniors, women, the middle class and our future economic stability. It’s bad for the country and for my constituents in Ventura County.”
