Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village) announced that the Navy’s Unmanned Helicopter Reconnaissance Squadron ONE would be relocating to Point Mugu, effective immediately.
“I’m pleased to announce the squadron’s move to Pt. Mugu,” said Brownley. “Naval Base Ventura County is critical to our local economy, and this move will further strengthen the base’s vital role in supporting our national defense and operational readiness.”
Currently located in San Diego, the Navy is moving the squadron to Pt. Mugu, which will provide training and support to littoral combat ship aviation detachments. This realignment will bring eight officer and 20 enlisted billets to Ventura County.
“I look forward to welcoming these new sailors to Ventura County,” said Brownley.
