Thousand Oaks, CA— Yesterday, Representative Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village) met with California Lutheran University President Chris Kimball to discuss the importance of higher education.
“I applaud California Lutheran University for investing in the future of its students and our community,” said Congresswoman Brownley. “President Kimball is doing great work in many areas critical to preparing our students for the jobs of tomorrow. I look forward to discussions with more community leaders working to find ways to better prepare Ventura County students for Ventura County jobs.”
Congresswoman Brownley recently met with students and staff at Moorpark Community College, Oxnard Community College, and Cal State University at Channel Islands. Brownley continues to meet with educational leaders and employers in Ventura County to discuss ways in which we can better prepare our students for the high skilled jobs being offered by Ventura County’s vibrant, innovative and diverse local business community.
Brownley is also a co-sponsor of the Student Loan Fairness Act and the Private Student Loan Bankruptcy Fairness Act.
