Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village) is pleased to announce that the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act has passed the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would provide veterans the opportunity to enroll in higher education courses at public institutions nationwide while paying in-state rates for tuition and fees regardless of their state of residence. The bill also improves other programs for veterans.
“Ensuring that veterans pay in-state tuition rates will lower the cost of a college education for veterans, helping them as they pursue the next steps in their careers,” said Congresswoman Brownley. “These young people have served our country, and they earned the opportunity to attend college at the school of their choice, no matter where they currently reside.”
