Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Programs Reauthorization Act, legislation co-authored by Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA) and Congressman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH), to fight veteran homelessness by strengthening job training programs. Ventura County Harbors, Port of Hueneme Receive $14.8 Million in Federal Funding

Brownley Announces More Than $6 Million in Federal Funds for Cal Lutheran University to Help Increase Number of Underrepresented Students and Faculty
Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-Westlake Village) announced that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded two grants to California Lutheran University totaling more than $6 million over five years through the Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program. This funding will help increase transfer, retention, and degree-completion rates for students who are Latino, low-income, or the first in their family to attend college and to address the shortage of Latino teachers.
