Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley announced the introduction of the Protecting Social Workers and Health Professionals from Workplace Violence Act, which seeks to address the safety needs of social workers and health care professionals by establishing a grant program within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for social, health, and human service professionals to fund the implementation of workplace safety programs. Senator Krysten Sinema introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley announced Lily Strange, a senior at Buena High School, as the winner of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 26th Congressional District. Lily’s piece is entitled  “Liberty Forever,” and her artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol complex for one year.

Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley and Congressman Peter Welch announced the introduction of H.R. 8398, the Driver Reimbursement Increase for Veteran Equity (DRIVE) Act. This bill would increase the Beneficiary Travel mileage reimbursement rate for eligible veterans for travel for health care appointments related to service-connected conditions.
