Today, Congresswoman Julia Brownley announced Rohan Philip, a ninth grader from Oak Park High School, as the winner of the 2022 Congressional App Challenge for California’s 26th Congressional District. Rohan created VetConnect, an app that helps veterans on their journey to better mental health.

On Wednesday, Rep. Julia Brownley, D-Westlake Village, presented a check to city officials at the project site on Faulkner Road. A federal omnibus spending bill on Dec. 29 included $28.9 million for 17 different projects in Ventura County.

Democrats on the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis rolled out their final majority staff report Wednesday, offering up a flurry of recommendations for further action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Democrats have already notched wins on that front with the Inflation Reduction Act and bipartisan infrastructure law (Greenwire, Dec. 14).
