The President of the United States is expected to serve the people and uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution. Donald Trump has repeatedly failed to do either.
Donald Trump has chosen to implement an agenda of chaos, destruction, and retribution. His actions are causing enormous panic and pain in people’s lives and having devastating impacts on our economy, democracy, freedoms, and the most vulnerable in our society.
I am listening closely to the many messages and phone calls I have received from constituents. I know that there is very real fear, anger, frustration, and uncertainty right now. I know people want answers and action, and I am committed to serving as a transparent and reliable leader for Ventura County and the Conejo Valley, and delivering for you and your family.
I have been working hard to oppose the dangerous actions of the Trump administration and to protect our democracy, our rights, and our communities. From co-signing legislation to limit Elon Musk’s access to sensitive data to speaking out on the House floor, I am determined to use every lever at Democrats’ disposal to stand up to Donald Trump and push back against this administration’s extreme overreach.
This page is here to update you on how my Democratic colleagues and I are standing up to this administration. We’re using every tool we have — legislation, litigation, and community action — to protect the programs families depend on and hold this President accountable.
Democrats believe in strengthening Medicaid, food assistance, and other vital services by making the wealthy pay their fair share. We’re fighting to build an economy that works for everyone, not just billionaires and big corporations.
There is much work to be done, and the stakes have never been higher. But we are all in this together, which is why I want to hear from you. Please keep sending your thoughts, insights, and concerns my way.

Litigation
I am working closely with House Democratic leadership to support lawsuits against the Trump administration’s illegal and unconstitutional actions. Although Democrats in Congress are in the minority and don’t have the ability to directly file lawsuits and issue subpoenas, we are actively collecting information and data – including the impacts of the administration’s actions on constituents, nonprofits, local governments, and federal agencies – and coordinating on a litigation strategy against the Trump administration.
Below you will find a number of amicus briefs that I have filed alongside my fellow House Democrats to provide additional information, expertise, and arguments to the courts.
Amicus brief challenging the Trump administration’s unlawful freezing of congressional appropriated funds (New York v. Trump)
Congresswoman Brownley and 156 House Democrats filed an amicus brief in the case of New York v. Trump, before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, challenging the Office of Management and Budget’s unlawful freezing of congressional appropriated funds in order to further President Trump’s reckless agenda. The members argue that the President cannot unilaterally bypass Congress—and thereby the will of the American people—and withhold appropriated funds based on his own priorities or policy preferences. It also underscores that under the United States Constitution, Congress has the exclusive power to appropriate funds and to make laws governing their use. The unlawful freezing of more than $425 billion in congressionally authorized funding has not only trampled on the legislative process but has inflicted irreparable damage on communities across the country—blocking critical investments that families, businesses, and local governments rely on. Amicus brief challenging the Trump administration’s unprecedented DHS-IRS agreement that weaponizes and exposes confidential taxpayer data for immigration enforcement (Centro de Trabajadores Unidos vs. Bessent)
Congresswoman Brownley and 92 Congressional Democrats filed an amicus brief in the case of Centro de Trabajadores Unidos vs. Bessent, calling on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals to block an unprecedented agreement between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that allows immigration enforcement agents access to millions of taxpayers’ confidential IRS records. The Democrats submitted policy arguments demonstrating that this agreement contravenes Congress’s clear intent to protect taxpayer privacy and encourage all individuals present in the U.S. to pay taxes. The brief demonstrates that the harms of sharing taxpayer data far outweigh ICE’s interest in the information. The brief reinforces Congress’s long-standing, bipartisan intent to maintain a strict firewall between tax administration and immigration enforcement. It further explains how the District Court’s misinterpretation of 26 U.S.C. § 6103(i)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code gives the IRS greater leeway than is permitted by the statute to share taxpayer address information with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It also emphasizes the importance of the Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) program and taxpayer privacy protections under 26 U.S.C. § 6103 that enable individuals who are ineligible for Social Security Numbers to comply with federal tax law. It argues that the agreement stands to undermine both tax revenue – in 2022 alone, ITIN filers paid $59.4 billion in federal income taxes, plus billions more to Social Security and Medicare, despite being ineligible to receive those benefits – and taxpayer faith in the confidentiality of their tax data.
Amicus brief challenging Trump’s unlawful abuse of emergency powers to reimpose tariffs already struck down by the courts (Oregon, et al., v. Trump, et al.)
Congresswoman Brownley and 180 Members of Congress filed an amicus brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals (Oregon, et al., v. Trump, et al.) for the Federal Circuit challenging President Donald Trump’s sweeping and chaotic tariffs that were unlawfully imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The lawmakers’ brief stands up for Congress’s Article I executive legislative powers and argues that IEEPA is not a tariff statute and that Congress did not intend or provide for IEEPA to be used as a tariff statute. In May, the Task Force successfully filed a brief in the same matter before the Court of International Trade (CIT). The CIT decision referenced our brief and struck down the President’s illegal tariffs under IEEPA. The administration has now appealed the lower court’s ruling, and the matter is now before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The Constitution gives Congress, not the President, the authority to impose tariffs, and the President can only raise tariffs if Congress has clearly delegated its authority to him. Although IEEPA (enacted in 1977) grants the president authority to impose sanctions, block foreign assets, and regulate economic transactions in response to “unusual and extraordinary threats” originating abroad, it is not a tariff statute and has never been used that way. Congress knows how to delegate tariff authority and has clearly done so on a number of occasions. When Congress does delegate such authority, it imposes substantive, procedural, and temporal limits on the president’s power in order to avoid economic chaos and protect the American people.
Amicus brief opposing President Trump’s illegal attempt to dismantle the Department of Education and override Congress’s constitutional authority (NAACP v. US)
Congresswoman Brownley and 178 Members of Congress filed an amicus brief before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland (NAACP v. US) arguing that President Trump’s attempts to dismantle the Department of Education (ED) violate separation of powers and lack constitutional authority. The lawmakers wrote, “Since the Department was created, presidents have taken different views of the Department and the role the federal government should play in education policy, but none has attempted what President Trump is attempting here: to unilaterally shutter the department… In short, the ‘President’s power, if any, to issue an order’ abolishing the Education Department ‘must stem either from an act of Congress or from the Constitution itself.’ Here, President Trump’s effort to unilaterally dismantle the Education Department defies the express will of Congress. Defendants lack the power to do what only Congress can do—restructure the federal government by shuttering a government department.” On March 20, 2025, President Trump signed an executive order instructing Education Secretary Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps” to abolish ED. This came after the Trump administration carried out a series of actions dismantling the Department, including mass firings of ED employees, the termination of contracts for congressionally authorized programs and activities, and the removal of crucial protections for student loan borrowers, while announcing plans to reorganize key ED functions into different departments. On March 24, 2025, a coalition of plaintiffs, including the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Maryland Council 3, and others, filed a lawsuit to halt the Trump administration’s illegal efforts to dismantle ED. The lawsuit argues that dismantling a Congressionally created federal agency requires Congressional approval.
Amicus brief defending National Institutes of Health (NIH) Grants from the Trump administration’s unlawful cuts that threaten lifesaving medical research across the country (Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. NIH, Association of American Medical Colleges v. NIH, and Association of American Universities v. Department of Health and Human Services)
Congresswoman Brownley and 156 House Democrats filed an amicus brief challenging the Trump administration’s illegal and devastating cuts to life-saving medical research grants at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The brief defends Congress’s Article I authority to appropriate federal funds and speaks up for every American who relies on crucial life-saving biomedical and public health research conducted at universities, medical schools, research hospitals, and other scientific institutions across the country. House Democrats’ amicus brief was filed in the consolidated cases Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. NIH, Association of American Medical Colleges v. NIH, and Association of American Universities v. Department of Health and Human Services, all currently before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. These cases challenge the Trump administration’s unlawful and unconstitutional efforts to reduce indirect cost reimbursements for projects funded by the NIH. In early February, the Trump administration arbitrarily slashed the NIH reimbursement rate for indirect research costs. Without fair reimbursement for indirect costs, more than 300,000 scientists and researchers at 2,500 institutions that receive NIH funding will face devastating impacts, and Americans could be left without access to lifesaving and life-extending treatments. The ramifications would also ripple through global collaboration and the development of our future scientific leadership and workforce, limiting our ability to enhance health and reduce illness and disability in the future.
Amicus brief further escalating fight against the Trump administration’s illegal attacks on the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship (Trump v. Casa, Inc.)
Congresswoman Brownley and 169 House Democrats filed an amicus brief in the matter of Trump v. Casa, Inc., which is now before the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. The Members remain steadfast in their commitment to fighting the Trump administration’s illegal attacks on the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship. The Trump administration filed this appeal to overturn a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the President’s attempt to change the constitutional right to birthright citizenship via executive order. The amicus brief provides overwhelming evidence that President Trump’s Executive Order violates the Constitution and over a century of Supreme Court rulings, as well as laws enacted by Congress. It also signifies the lawmakers’ commitment to defending birthright citizenship, following their amicus briefs filed in State of Washington v. Trump before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court cases Trump v. Washington, Trump v. CASA, Inc., and Trump v. New Jersey.
Amicus brief challenging Trump’s reckless abuse of emergency powers to unilaterally impose chaotic, unlawful tariffs and bypass Congress’s constitutional authority (Oregon, et al., v. Trump, et al.)
Congresswoman Brownley and 147 Members of Congress filed an amicus brief challenging President Donald Trump’s sweeping and chaotic tariffs unlawfully imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The lawmakers’ brief stands up for Congress’s Article I exclusive legislative power to impose tariffs and regulate commerce, and argues that IEEPA does not give the President the power to impose reckless, on-again-off-again tariffs, which have wreaked havoc on the U.S. economy. It was filed in the matter of Oregon, et al., v. Trump, et al., which was brought forth by 12 States’ Attorneys General.
On May 28, the three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of International Trade unanimously blocked President Donald Trump’s effort to impose sweeping and chaotic tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). In their ruling, the judges, appointed to the federal bench by Presidents Reagan, Obama, and Trump, adopted the arguments House Democrats made in their amicus brief in the case: the emergency powers granted to the President by Congress in IEEPA do not include the authority to impose tariffs.
Amicus brief defending consumers and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from Trump-Musk assault & illegal power grab (National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), et al. v. CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, et al.)
Congresswoman Brownley and 233 current and former Members of Congress filed an amicus brief in defense of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The brief was submitted in the case of National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), et al. v. CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, et al. before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit following an appeal by the Trump administration of a D.C. District Court ruling that blocked the administration’s unlawful shutdown. As emphasized in the brief, Congress established the CFPB following the devastating 2008 global financial crisis that “shattered” lives, “shuttered” businesses, and “evaporated” savings. This agency was created to hold accountable the big banks and predatory lenders whose unfair and deceptive practices caused the crisis. While Trump and Musk have made several unlawful attempts to abolish the CFPB without Congressional approval, the Members make clear in the brief that the sole authority to do so lies with Congress, as Congress created the agency. This Constitutional power holds true regardless of any President’s personal views about the agency. Moreover, in the past, when Congress determined to give the President reorganization authority, it did so through legislation. The President has no authority to prevent the agency from fulfilling its statutory mission to protect consumers from harmful practices of the financial services industry. In fact, since the agency was established 15 years ago, it has returned $21 billion to 205 consumers, including working-class families, servicemembers, veterans, students, and others harmed by predatory institutions. Gutting this agency would halt this work, as no alternative agency has the authority and resources to fill this massive void.
Amicus brief elevating fight against Trump administration’s illegal attacks on the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship (Trump v. State of Washington, Trump v. CASA, Inc., and Trump v. State of New Jersey)
Congresswoman Brownley and 182 House Democrats filed an amicus brief for the three birthright citizenship cases currently before the United States Supreme Court (Trump v. State of Washington, Trump v. CASA, Inc., and Trump v. State of New Jersey), elevating their fight against the Trump administration’s illegal attacks on the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship to the highest court in the land. The brief offers a compelling argument that President Trump’s week one order to strip the guarantee of citizenship provided to children born in America violates the Constitution and over a century of Supreme Court rulings, and laws enacted by Congress. The justices are set to hear oral arguments in the cases on May 15th, following the administration’s request that they lift a nationwide pause currently halting the implementation of this policy.
Amicus brief challenging Trump administration’s efforts to close the Department of Education (State of New York v. Linda McMahon)
On April 23rd, Congresswoman Brownley and 191 House Democrats filed an amicus brief challenging the Trump administration’s efforts to close the Department of Education in the matter of the State of New York v. Linda McMahon – a case in which 20 states moved to sue the administration for its plans to place fifty percent of the Department’s workforce on administrative leave, effectively shuttering a congressionally authorized agency by way of executive fiat. By involving themselves in this legal battle, House Democrats sought to stand up for Congress’s power to ensure a quality education for all Americans—and in their filing, they argued that the Trump administration cannot unilaterally create, dismantle, or reorganize the Education Department, nor can executive officials make solitary decisions regarding the agency’s organization and assignment of functions. The lawmakers also cited executive overreach, noting that efforts to strip support for the federal agency violate Congress’s power of the purse.
Amicus brief opposing President Donald Trump’s unlawful attempt to fire members of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
On April 14th, Congresswoman Brownley, 209 House Democrats, and 41 Senators filed an amicus brief opposing President Donald Trump’s unlawful attempt to fire members of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). FTC Commissioners Rebecca Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya are duly appointed, Senate-confirmed Commissioners at an independent federal agency created by Congress. Trump’s illegal attempts to terminate them threaten the integrity of independent federal agencies and the FTC’s ability to enforce civil antitrust law and protect the public from fraudsters and monopolists. In Slaughter v. Trump, a case filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia challenging the unlawful attempted firings of FTC Commissioners Slaughter and Bedoya, the congressional amicus brief argues: 1) The Supreme Court’s 1935 decision in Humphrey’s Executor makes clear that Congress has the power to create independent multimember agencies like the FTC and provide removal protections for FTC Commissioners; 2) Throughout our nation’s history, Congress has created independent agencies with multimember boards or commissions whose members enjoy removal protections, like the Commissioners of the FTC, and this established practice has been consistently upheld by the Supreme Court; and 3) Constitutional text and history support Congress’ constitutional authority to temper the President’s exercise of removal.
Amicus Brief in defense of essential constitutional principle of birthright citizenship, pushing back against President Trump’s unlawful executive directives (State of Washington, et al. v. Trump, et al.)
On April 12th, Congresswoman Brownley and 207 members of the Democratic Caucus filed an amicus brief in defense of the essential constitutional principle of birthright citizenship in the matter of State of Washington, et al. v. Trump, et al. pushing back against President Donald Trump’s unlawful executive directives. In their argument, the amici curiae (or friends of the court) presented overwhelming evidence that Trump’s day-one order to nullify birthright citizenship violates not just the Constitution and over a century of Supreme Court rulings, but also laws passed by Congress that have repeatedly guaranteed citizenship to children born in America.
Amicus Brief opposing President Donald Trump’s unlawful attempts to fire members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) (Cathy Harris v. Scott Bessent, et al. and Wilcox v. Trump et al.)
On April 9th, Congresswoman Brownley, 211 House Democrats, and 41 Senators filed an amicus brief for two cases (Cathy Harris v. Scott Bessent, et al. and Wilcox v. Trump et al.) opposing President Donald Trump’s unlawful attempts to fire members of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB). The individuals cited in this matter were duly appointed, congressionally confirmed board members at independent federal agencies. Illegal attempts to terminate them threaten the integrity of these institutions and their ability to protect American workers and uphold workplace democracy. The NLRB and MSPB play a critical role in protecting workers, both in public service and the private sector, in their right to seek better working conditions and in safeguarding a non-political, merit-based federal workforce.
Amicus brief standing up to President Trump’s blatant executive overreach and illegal dismantling of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) (American Foreign Service Association, et al. v. Trump, et al.)
On March 31st, Congresswoman Brownley and 201 House Democrats filed an amicus brief standing up to the blatant executive overreach and illegal dismantling of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), in the matter of American Foreign Service Association, et al. v. Trump, et al. In their brief, the members argued that the President’s directive blatantly violated Congress’s lawmaking and spending powers as explicitly outlined in Article I of the United States Constitution, by dismantling a federal agency authorized and repeatedly funded by acts of Congress. The shuttering of USAID, including placing thousands of workers on leave and halting nearly all congressionally approved foreign aid, undermines a critical component of the federal government responsible for global stability and American security. For nearly 40 years, USAID has played a central role in preventing crises, fostering economic opportunities abroad, and mitigating the conditions that contribute to violent extremism and instability. Scaling back its work not only weakens these efforts but also creates a vacuum for global competitors like China, Russia, and Iran to expand their influence.
Amicus brief in defense of American consumers and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), pushing back against President Trump’s unlawful attempts to shut down agency that protects Americans from unfair, deceptive, and abusive corporate practices (National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), et al. v. CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, et al.)
On February 28, Congresswoman Brownley and 197 House Democrats filed an amicus brief in defense of American consumers and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in the matter of National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), et al. v. CFPB Acting Director Russell Vought, et al. before the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. As the House members described in their amicus brief, President Trump has already imposed significant and irreparable harm on consumers across the country. In seeking to “shut down” CFPB, President Trump wants to eliminate the agency that protects Americans from unfair, deceptive, and abusive corporate practices, giving even more power to his corrupt billionaire friends serving as top advisors. In the brief, the House Democratic leaders noted that recent actions toward the CFPB, the “consumer watchdog agency,” including the implementation of sweeping stop-work orders and plans to arbitrarily fire most employees, represent a blatant disregard for Congress’s role and express directives. These actions are in clear violation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, as well as the Constitution’s mandate that the laws be faithfully executed. As the CFPB is the only federal agency dedicated solely to protecting American consumers in the financial marketplace, the lawmakers also underscored the threat to key operations that provide relief from a wide range of unlawful practices costing hardworking families billions. These include rulings promoting small business lending transparency, curbing excessive overdraft fees, and preventing medical debt from limiting creditworthy borrowers’ access to credit. The amicus curiae also referenced reports that President Trump and unelected and unaccountable members of his team have access to sensitive consumer data and critical systems within the CFPB.
House Democrats successfully urged a federal judge to block efforts to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Their argument was cited multiple times throughout the federal judge’s 112-page ruling issued Friday, March 28, 2025.

The blatantly racist video Donald Trump posted today is yet another example of his complete moral bankruptcy and total lack of human decency.
We know that Donald Trump is a racist and vile individual. He has been a disgrace to our country since day one. What is truly outrageous is not just his behavior, but the reaction — or lack thereof — from so-called leaders in the Republican Party.
The hypocrisy and continued spineless silence from Trump loyalists like Mike Johnson and Congressional Republicans only embolden this behavior, allowing hatred and extremism to be normalized in our country. Every Republican who remains silent is complicit in the destruction of our democracy and contributes to the continued moral decline of our nation. ... See MoreSee Less

I appreciate your stance but really think this is more of an everyone issue. Democrats, republicans, independents, we all need to stand against this.
Thank you for this post and for your representation!
Thank you for speaking up.
Yes! Thank you for saying it!
Thank you for speaking out. I’ve always respected how you’ve represented us.
From Grok: Democrats and liberal figures have occasionally used animal comparisons, including primates, in rhetoric or satire against Donald Trump, often playing on his orange-tinted appearance or behavior. These instances are typically framed as humorous or critical jabs rather than invoking deep historical tropes, but they parallel the dehumanizing animal imagery in the February 5-6, 2026, incident by likening a political figure to non-human primates. Here are some notable examples drawn from public statements, media, and social media: Comparisons to Orangutans • Bill Maher: The comedian and HBO host repeatedly referred to Trump as an “orangutan” during his presidency, such as in 2013 when he joked about Trump’s hair and skin tone resembling the ape, and in later segments tying it to his “heir to the orangutan throne” quips. Maher’s comments were part of broader satirical critiques of Trump’s appearance and intellect. • Wanda Sykes: In her 2017 Netflix special Not Normal, the comedian called Trump an “orangutan” while mocking his policies and demeanor. This drew some backlash for perceived hypocrisy in light of other racial controversies, but it was defended as a reference to his spray-tan rather than race. • Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX): In an August 2025 interview clip that went viral, Crockett referred to Trump as an “orange orangutan” while criticizing his leadership style and comparing him to historical dictators like Hitler. This was part of a broader rant against his political comeback. Comparisons to Other Primates • Jane Goodall and Democratic Coalition: In 2017, renowned primatologist Jane Goodall compared Trump’s dominance displays and rallies to the aggressive behaviors of male chimpanzees in the wild, noting similarities in posturing and group dynamics. The Democratic Coalition amplified this on X (then Twitter), framing it as a scientific observation of Trump’s “chimp-like” aggression. • General Liberal Media and Satire: Late-night shows and online commentary, such as from Stephen Colbert or social media users, have frequently depicted Trump as an “orange ape” or monkey in memes and cartoons. For instance, a 2018 viral post highlighted how liberals had been calling Trump an “orange orangutan” for years, often in response to his policies or public gaffes. Cartoon collections have also featured Trump as an orangutan-like figure in satirical contexts, such as prison or leadership scenarios. These examples have sparked debates about double standards, with critics noting that primate comparisons against Black figures carry a heavier historical weight due to centuries-old racist dehumanization, while those against Trump are more often tied to his self-presentation (e.g., hair, tan, mannerisms). Nonetheless, they represent similar tactics of using animal imagery to malign or ridicule an opponent in political discourse. If you’re looking for broader dehumanizing rhetoric (e.g., comparisons to dictators or monsters), there are many more instances, but these focus on the primate angle as per the query’s reference.

Is that kinda sorta like when Democrats were supporting Black Lives Matter terrorists while they were burning American cities and assaulting first responders....
Thank the biden for this mess
You halfwit. So the racist who called Trump an orange orangutan was not racist? A black person dumb enough to call a white person an 'orange orangutan' has no defence against a reply that she is a black ape.
Thank you for speaking out against racism and the man representing our country purposely publicly debasing U.S. citizens.

The Trump administration’s extreme abortion ban puts veterans at risk and prevents doctors from providing the care their patients need. House Democrats believe veterans deserve compassionate, comprehensive health care and honest conversations with their doctors — free from political interference.
That is why I am leading my Democratic colleagues in introducing a joint resolution of disapproval under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to formally overturn the VA's recently finalized abortion rule.
This resolution makes it clear that this dangerous policy cannot stand. Veterans who survive rape or incest deserve care, not barriers, and doctors should never be silenced when patients are seeking medical guidance. The VA must deliver consistent, comprehensive care to all veterans — guided by medical need and science, not extremist and dangerous ideology. ... See MoreSee Less

Government should have no business in abortions or women’s health. The decision should primarily be with the mother & whomever she chooses. The government’s involvement should not be beyond providing factual medical information, options/alternatives to abortions & to insure those providing the services are qualified & the facilities are clean & safe!!
All women deserve reproductive healthcare!
Thank you Congresswoman Brownley. We appreciate you.
Very important issue.
Keep the VA focused on service connected injuries!
When they first started to use lower courts to over rule older Supreme Court rulings to "get Trump" it would open the door to reversing row v wade and I was correct.
I find an amazing adoption is not on a table
Two questions: 1. What percent of military pregnancies are due to rape or incest? 2. Who speaks for the rights of the unborn?
By gum kill those babies at any cost, yeah?🤦♀️👹

Greg Bovino has been removed as CBP’s “Commander-at-Large,” but that is not enough. Kristi Noem should be next.
The entire leadership at the Department of Homeland Security has shown blind loyalty to Donald Trump instead of any real commitment to a humane immigration system or to actually keeping our country safe.
ICE must immediately cease its lawless operations in Minnesota and in communities across the country. This administration must be held fully accountable, and DHS must be forced to operate with responsibility, transparency, and respect for the rule of law.

What is happening in Minneapolis is an affront to core American values and must be condemned. In recent weeks, two individuals have been fatally shot by federal agents during these operations, sparking grief, protest, and widespread calls for accountability nationwide.

Stop fueling and supporting unrest. If you confront those who are following the law to enforce our borders, expect consequences, and some may be unfortunate.
Thank you, Julie, for attending the protest! I’m sure you realize that the dissenters making negative comments on here – you know, the ones who are A-okay with state-sponsored murder – they do NOT represent the majority! They may be more prolific with comments, but the rest of us folks with a conscience have lives outside social media. We don’t spend our days scrolling to confirm our biases, while leaving hateful comments on people’s pages we disagree with. We see injustice, and we act. Know that your leadership matters! ✊
Thank you for standing up and speaking out. We know what we saw with our own eyes. The agents working for immigration and customs enforcement, as well as the customs and border patrol must be held to the same standards. They must be held accountable. 💙🇺🇸 We know Nixon did not go to prison but his AG did, as did several of his cabinet members.
Thank you Congresswoman Brownley!
Remember No One Is Above The Law⁉️
So, let me see if I’ve got this right: securing our borders, enforcing United States codified laws, enforcing state laws by arresting illegal aliens with criminal warrants as a part of their job is an front to American values. But, violently protesting, obstructing officers in the performance of their duties, and assaulting law enforcement officers are core American values. Talk about having screwed up values. Julia is just another politician who appears to hate America based on the words she chose to post.

The American values that I am aware of include having borders. Also respecting the law. These people inserted themselves into things that they should not have. Their deaths are very unfortunate but could be predictable. Secondly, if we did not have ridiculous sanctuary city, and sanctuary state declarations, which I do not believe were ever voted on by the people anyway, ICE could go into the jails and take the people that do not belong here. Therefore, all this could be avoided. I do not support your position. Further, I think Congress should investigate the funding and groups that are pushing these so-called protests and riots.
I will miss you. So sad you are retiring.

Today’s news out of Minneapolis is another absolutely horrifying reminder of this administration’s lawlessness and lack of accountability. Once again, the excessive use of force by federal agents has resulted in the innocent loss of life on our streets.
Our communities are not safer. They are more fearful as federal agents operating under ICE and the Department of Homeland Security are being deployed without the training, oversight, or respect for civil rights that real public safety demands.
Make no mistake: responsibility for this violence falls squarely on Donald Trump and Republicans in Washington who have enabled and funded these operations while allowing accountability to go unchecked. They have ignored local leaders, dismissed calls for transparency, and blocked meaningful investigation into these incidents.
I stand with the people of Minnesota, with grieving families, and with those demanding justice be carried out for every individual terrorized by ICE and this administration. Donald Trump promised to “rapidly bring down costs.” Last week, he claimed “inflation is defeated.” Working families know that’s not true.
In fact, a new report from Joint Economic Committee shows California families paid $2,355 more in Trump’s first year in office because of inflation.
Instead of lowering costs, Republicans are focused on political stunts and justifying Trump’s unconstitutional actions while families struggle to afford groceries, rent, and gas.
Americans need real relief, not distractions. House Democrats remain committed to lowering costs and making the economy work for working people.

Julia, apparently you don’t do your own shopping. I just bought eggs at Walmart for $1.47 compared to Joe Biden’s price of $10.00. Also, paying 50% less for gasoline.

For starters Julia, how about a major reduction in California State Income Tax… ridiculous! Next get rid of All the extra Taxes on Gasoline would be a good start… Get to Work!!
It was actually due to their excessive taxes in their state
If California diverted the extra money they are spending to fight the removal of illegal aliens and actual pay illegal aliens to not work, go to free school, or just leave the house, plus all of the committees and organizations they are spending a billion dollars on to fight Trump.... maybe we would keep some money instead of lose businesses
California state taxes baby!! 🙃
I wrote this myself after spending a lot of time thinking about history and where we are today. It’s not about parties, it’s about patterns. If you find this thoughtful or useful, please read, comment, and share so more people see it. If anyone finds this written elsewhere, let me know and I will remove it. A Caution From History: Why Some See Parallels With 1930s Germany I love the United States. I believe in its ideals, its Constitution, and its imperfect but extraordinary democracy. Because of that, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to speak honestly about where we are. I could be wrong. History never repeats exactly. But the patterns that undermine democracies are well documented, and some of them look uncomfortably familiar. In 1930–1933 Germany, before Adolf Hitler became a dictator, the following warning signs appeared: 1. Elections were declared illegitimate. German conservatives argued that elections were corrupt and no longer reflected the will of “real Germans,” justifying extraordinary measures. ➡️ Today, millions of Americans believe elections are rigged despite courts and evidence repeatedly affirming their legitimacy. 2. Courts and civil servants were labeled enemies. Judges, bureaucrats, and academics were portrayed as internal saboteurs. Loyalty to democratic institutions gave way to loyalty to individuals. ➡️ Today, judges, the DOJ, universities, and career public servants are often dismissed as traitors or a “deep state.” 3. The press was delegitimized. Germany’s independent press was branded dishonest and unpatriotic, allowing propaganda to replace shared facts. ➡️ Today, unfavorable reporting is frequently rejected outright, regardless of sourcing or verification. 4. Minority groups were scapegoated. Economic anxiety and social fear were redirected toward minorities and political opponents, framed as existential threats. ➡️ Today, immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, and political opponents are increasingly portrayed as dangers to the nation. 5. Political violence was normalized. Violence was excused as understandable or patriotic, and enforcement became uneven—until the rule of law collapsed. ➡️ Today, threats and acts of political violence are too often minimized or justified depending on who commits them. ________________________________________ What This Means Germany did not fall because people wanted tyranny. It fell because too many people decided democratic norms were expendable. I am ashamed that much of the political left, through missteps, overreach, and a failure to build trust, helped create the anger, cynicism, and polarization that brought us to this moment. I am equally alarmed that much of the political right, rather than acting as a guardrail, is choosing to tolerate or enable behavior that weakens democratic institutions and norms. America is not Nazi Germany. But the warning signs of democratic erosion are no longer theoretical. History does not ask whether these comparisons feel fair or comfortable. It asks whether we recognize the pattern in time to change course.
Inflation under 2%! 🥂
julie, can you do a audit of the homeless ngo's???
The inflation is a killer. 3 tenths of a percentage more. 😂🤣
You another one need true fact give to you? 1 item only Personally Gas is half the price it was... I used to pay 160 to fill my tank. It only take 80 to fill it Thats 4160 saving per year. Now if we had priceslike lots of other states I bet i could get a savings on 5k a year just in gass alone As a business owner. A product i sell has 1 imported raw product . I just got me yearly. Updated price sheet.. it is a 9% increase.... you know what's funny. Its been 9% every year for past 20 yrs. Apparently tariffs didnt effect that 1 imported raw product price. Eggs was 9.99 a dozen. Now 1.99 a dozen that's 416. A year savings Only increase i had this past year. My electric bill. Almost tripled why? Because the calif government allowed them to increase it that much. Throught the utility committee. You know what else increased in calif. Home owners ins and business insurance why. FIRES WHY ARE INSURANCE COMPANIES BAILING FROM CALIF? Cause California cant control their land Funny city/ county comes by and will fine me is i dont weed abate. Yet I drive by county and state properties and they aren't weed abated. Calif government is costing us Californians more Like this new road tax mileage garbage. My cars already pay a road tax. Way higher than any electric car ever does Charge them the mileage tax not gas and diesel vehicles which already pay enough California government is costing Californians more with your stupid 1% ideas
It wasn't his inflation, it was Gavin Newsom and his 🤡s premium taxes on Fuel, Registrations, non EV purchases ect. Let's not forget he's allowed the insurance commissioner to raise rates each of the last 4 years.
“In the fall of 2024, a Wall Street Journal analysis described the state of the Biden-era economy as “remarkable,” which coincided with a Bloomberg analysis that said, “The nation is experiencing a dream combination of strong growth and low inflation.” There is more where that came from. A month before Election Day 2024, The New York Times reported that the U.S. job market was “as healthy as it has ever been” — meaning in the history of the country — and described economic growth as “robust.” A few days later, The Washington Post’s Heather Long explained in a column, “We are living through one of the best economic years of many people’s lifetimes.” The same day, Politico described the status quo as “a dream economy.” The Economist, a leading British publication, also described the U.S. economy as “the envy of the world,” adding that the American economy “has left other rich countries in the dust.”
Gavin Newsom - Hello $8 gas
California inflation, can of soup in California $5. A can a soup where I live 3:25, diesel in California $5.25 diesel where I live $3.20. Registration for the truck California $1,150.00 for 1 year where I live $200.00for one year or pay for 2 years for $400
I see the inflation increasing when I have to pay my bills
Due to Democrat leadership in California
What's a, familes?
Well, unfortunately Trumps 2.5% - 3% inflation does have to pile onto the 8% inflation during the Biden Administration by definition. How does this compare to the 4 years before during the previous term & even the 1st Trump 4 year term year by year. Meanwhile you voted against increasing the child tax credit, no tax on overtime, no tax on tips, no tax on social security, newborn $1000 portfolio accounts & no tax on auto loans that would help low & mid income people, young families starting out & seniors. How did your vote help????
We don't need inflation!!
You paid more to you tax structure
Trump tariffs are taxes ultimately paid by the American consumer.
This is pure Horsesh.t. We all know who caused all the inflation. Joe's actions on oil and "the inflation increasing act" and "the green new Steal" We were there, we lived it in live action, 20% inflation caused by the Democrats.

House Republicans are advancing Donald Trump’s anti-choice agenda by censoring medically accurate information, stigmatizing abortion care, and inserting politics and extremist ideology into the most personal health care decisions a person can make.
The so-called Pregnant Students’ Rights Act and the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act advance a dangerous agenda of government control and bring us closer to a nationwide abortion ban. I voted no on both bills because families deserve real support, honest information, and the freedom to make their own health care decisions.

I agree in part, except when you say families decide. The pregnant female decides. It is her body, and hers alone. It’s fine if she seeks counsel from family or anyone else, but the decision is hers to make.
Supporting life does not take away support for pregnant young women. Both deserve life.
Decisions about women’s bodies belong to women alone. Opposition to choice does not grant authority—only responsibility to prevent the pregnancy in the first place.
Keep up the fight!
Yay 3 more years!!!
Will the next person who fills your seat do the same?
Thank you. As always. You are on the right side of history ❤️
Julia, How can you say this is Trump’s anti-choice agenda. You probably know presidents don’t not write legislation. So what percentage of that statement about Trump is true? Read the last paragraph to see who re-introduced this legislation. Also, please point out were it has any impact on abortion. Or is that statement something you just made up? The Pregnant Students' Rights Act (H.R. 6359/H.R. 6914), passed by the House in January 2026, requires colleges to inform pregnant students of their rights, available accommodations, and resources to support carrying a baby to term. It ensures access to flexible schedules, excused absences, and information on filing Title IX complaints. Key Aspects of the Pregnant Students' Rights Act (H.R. 6359 & 6914) Information Dissemination: Institutions must provide information on rights, protections, and resources via email annually, in student handbooks, at orientations, in health centers, and on school websites. Title IX Protections: The Act reinforces that Title IX prohibits discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions. Support & Accommodations: Schools must provide reasonable adjustments, such as larger desks, elevator access, and frequent bathroom breaks. Medical Leave/Absences: Schools must excuse absences due to pregnancy or childbirth for as long as a doctor deems necessary and allow students to return to the same academic/extracurricular status. Resource List: Colleges are required to provide a list of on-campus and community resources to assist with carrying the baby to term and postnatal care. The legislation, reintroduced by Representative Ashley Hinson, aims to ensure students do not have to choose between their education and their child.
What about the unborn baby's right to choose? Their lives are protected by the Constitution and by God. LIFE, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness. Stop the infanticide.
Lotta “health” in that photo 🤦♂️
Yes because it's all about preventing the unborn form having a choice of being born.
The more you post the happier we are you will exiting stage left.
Government has no place in anyone’s health issues. The government’s sole concern should be the efficacy of medications & the safety of procedures, fairness & reasonableness of costs & elimination of fraud! Period!!

The American people have been clear: they expect Congress to uphold the rule of law and prevent reckless, unauthorized military engagements. Yet, Republicans continue to abdicate their constitutional responsibilities, allowing this administration to operate without even the pretense of oversight or accountability.
As Donald Trump continues his authoritarian tactics, House Republicans have chosen to eliminate the rightful role of Congress as a co-equal branch of government. House Democrats, however, will not be silent. We will continue to call out abuses of power, demand transparency, and fight to restore Congress’s constitutional role.
Democrats remain ready to work across the aisle to uphold the U.S. Constitution, our laws, and the will of the American people. I urge the Republicans who voted against this resolution to reflect on the oath they swore and to start defending our democratic institutions instead of enabling a dangerous and unchecked presidency.

Julia, You well know that Presidents from both parties have ordered effective military actions against sovereign territories without approval of Congress!! Nothing new here. The Constitutional power that Congress has is solely to declare war. Nothing this President has done has come remotely close to waging war! They have been decisive military strikes on focused targets. Trump’s military action has been one time events. It’s only false Democratic political rhetoric claiming we are at war with Iran & Venezuela. You’re playing with fire!! Restricting this Presidential authority will put this nation at such great risk. You guys can’t even keep the government open consistently. Can you imagine the target practice our enemies will have especially with the technology available today while we wait for Congress to get off their collective butts to do most things!! Democrats have made cuts to defense budgets & now you want to tie the hands of any President. You are aware that China has more warships than we do!! You are putting our nation at great risk!! Don’t!!
How many soldiers have we lost during this war of yours? Set the drug lords free. We true Americans need more drugs so we don't have to listen to your lies. You just go on supporting any criminals, as long as they vote for Dumbocrats.
